London (pts021/01.08.2007/12:00) - In launching the Central European Power Show, the Power Group of Wilmington Media is taking a new and important initiative to serve the electricity industries of this key region. "There are many serious issues to be tackled in Central and Eastern Europe at this time", says Wilmington Event Manager Linda Dunkley. "Deregulation, security of supply, meeting EU accession conditions, Kyoto and tightening of emissions regulations are just some of the challenges that need to be dealt with and we want to help", says Dunkley. "We are not saying that the solutions will not happen without us, on the contrary there are already a lot of very successful initiatives out there and solutions will come whether we are there or not! All we are saying is that with our industry knowledge and experience we can help make it happen more smoothly and faster!"
She continues: "We all know that the only viable route to solutions is through a co-ordinated approach at international level, involving not only the power industry but also investors and government bodies. This is our vision, to provide a place where these three groups can come together and do what would normally take months and even years to accomplish in a matter of 3 days!"
She explains: "We felt that the basic structure should be in the form of a conference and exhibition but we do not want to be constrained by this structure either and what we are saying to the people and organisations that we come into contact with is if there is any other creative way that they would like to use this initiative to assist them in reaching their objectives, then we are more than happy to work with them on it. For too long the media has sought to dictate how things should be done providing structures that are adequate but do not completely fulfil the industry's requirements. We want to change this and work with the industry to create something that not only fulfils but exceeds expectations"
She finishes: "We are delighted with the support that we have received to date with not only major players in the power industry getting behind us but also countries such as Pakistan, UK (BEAMA), and the USA all committed to bringing national pavilions. We are also honoured to have the seal of approval from the Polish Ministry of Economy - Mr Piotr Grzegorz Wozniak who are the honorary patrons, we expect a successful outcome!"
The CENTRAL EUROPEAN POWER SHOW takes place 17-19 October 2007 in Warsaw Poland.
