Pforzheim (pts001/03.08.2006/01:00) - Around 26,000 new installations expected

Pforzheim 3rd August 2006. The German pellets market continues its above-average growth. "The number of new installations in Germany rose from 2,200 in 2000 to 17,000 pellet heaters in 2005. Thus, pellet heaters had a market share of approximately 3.7 percent of new installations in the heating market last year. In 2006, we are expecting as many as 26,000 newly installed pellet units," estimates Horst Dufner, project manager for the Pellets 2006 trade fair. The industry is reacting to this development by expanding its production capacities. The 6th Pellets Industrial Forum on
10th and 11th October in Stuttgart and Germany's biggest
trade fair for pellets, Pellets 2006, which takes place from
11th to 13th in Stuttgart are the meeting points for experts in the pellets industry.

Total sales of around Eur350m for the pellets industry in the areas of boilers, furnaces and fuels.

The total number of pellet units (water-driven furnaces and boilers) in 2005 was 44,000. In the same year, the pellets industry generated total sales of around Eur350m in the areas of boilers, furnaces and fuels, Eur40m of which was revenue from fuel sales. The growth prognosis for 2006 is influenced by various factors, for example the future oil price development and the changes in subsidies for pellet combustion made by the Federal Office of Economics and Export Control (BAFA). Total turnover in the pellets industry will increase to around Eur550m once it has achieved the forecast 26,000 new installations.

Strong approval from both customers and experts in the sanitary heating and air-conditioning trade.

These positive figures are inspiring the industry: pellet plants are approved and respected by experts from the area of sanitary heating and air-conditioning trade and customers alike. Not only are established businesses, like those from the classic heating systems industry, increasingly offering pellet heating in addition to their usual services. Those new to the industry are also investing large sums and are establishing themselves as pellet manufacturers or suppliers, developing new storage systems for pellets or new exhaust systems for furnaces.

Pellet 2006 trade fair highly specialized

The diversity at the Pellets trade fair 2006 reflects the rapid speed at which the pellets market is developing. Over 100 manufacturers, including many new businesses, have reserved exhibition space for the trade fair, which will take place from 11th to 13th October in Stuttgart. The whole spectrum of the pellets supply chain is showcased to the international expert visitors: all major manufacturers are represented, from the pellets press to boilers, suppliers, wholesalers and the service industry. With this wide range of products and services on offer, Pellets 2006 clearly stands out from the average heating systems trade fair.

Pellets 2006 extended to three days

Due to the request of many participants for an extra trade fair day, the event organiser, Solar Promotion GmbH has extended Pellets 2006. The event will now take place over three days instead of two.
