Karlsruhe/ Berlin (pts018/13.03.2003/11:35) - Leading manufacturer of travel, traffic and tour planning software PTV http://www.ptv.de and software creator gate5 http://www.gate5.de have entered a new partnership.
Together they will specialise in the development of software for intelligent mobile end devices. The strategic cooperation between the two companies signals the start of a revolution in client-server technology with interactive maps for future mobile travel and navigation services.
Based in Karlsruhe, software specialist PTV will be working closely together with Berlin-based software developer gate5 to create and market new products for the mobile and automotive branch. The goal of their partnership is to meld the innovation of gate5 client technology with the already established PTV mobile server platform, creating long needed client-server technology. The partnership combines innovation with professionalism, performance and security. Both companies are confident that this business connection will revolutionise the services market, up to now characterised by uncertainty.
Interactive maps make services an adventure
A further focus is the development and marketing of products and services for all mobile access channels, such as PDAs, smartphones, and mobile phones - independently of the operating system used. The user profits from a new quality of experience with high resolution, dynamic and interactive gate5 map technology. And he can take advantage of innovative map MMS services in the future.
Market leadership on the horizon
The goal of the partnership is to become market leader for mobile travel and navigation services in Europe.
