Los Angeles/Munich (pts005/26.01.2003/18:17) - Internationalmedia's wholly-owned subsidiary Intermedia and Summit Entertainment, a privately owned company, announced today that they are forming a new joint venture to handle all international sales, marketing and physical distribution for the two companies. Intermedia and Summit Entertainment will transfer all their distribution and marketing personnel into the joint venture. The two companies have designated Summit Entertainment to handle all future international sales on behalf of the joint venture.
The scope of the arrangement will cover all films produced by either party, or films with which Intermedia or Summit Entertainment already have distribution arrangements including Intermedia's or Summit's agreements with its producers. Both companies will continue independently in their other core operations, in particular film development, financing and production.
The new entity will be named I.S. Film Distribution, an Intermedia/Summit Company, and will be based in Los Angeles. The new joint venture will be operational immediately, and will begin representing both companies at the upcoming American Film Market. Based on current international sales volume of the two companies, I.S.
