Vienna (pte025/08.05.2013/11:36) - The Museum Quarter (MQ) in Vienna is inaugurating the start of the summer season today, May 8.
Vienna's Museum Quarter has long been a favourite for young and old. More than just the address for some of Vienna's top museums and cultural institutions, the MQ is a place to meet and relax during the warm summer months.
For the first time this year, access to all MQ-institutions will be free during the event on May, 8.
The Leopold Museum for example will be showing the "Wolken, Welt des Flüchtlingen" (English: "Clouds, the world of the refuges") exhibition presenting masterworks by William Turner, Claude Monet and other artists from the 19th century to the present who pushed clouds to the centre of their artistic work.
The MUMOK (Museum for Modern Art) will display two exhibitions. "Franz West. Wo ist mein Achter?" (English: "Franz West. Where is my eight?") is the first posthumous exhibition of the Austrian artist. With "In Progress", MUMOK retraces its fifty-year history with significant pieces of art.
The Architecturzentrum Wien (English: Vienna architecture centre) will also put its most interesting collected objects on display on May, 8.
