Pforzheim/Stuttgart (pts040/23.06.2009/16:02) - Growing market shares for pellets heating systems, both in German and international markets, characterize the wood pellets industry. This globalization of the pellets market presents opportunities and challenges: "Pellets producers, boiler manufacturers, dealers, service providers and investors search for knowledge of new technologies which will further improve fuel quality and fuel production, and current market information provides a basis for making strategic decisions. Owing to the growing demand for wood pellets, factors such as logistics and storage play an increasingly important role. The Pellets Industry Forum is dedicated to the exchange of expertise at an international level, and reveals trends in the industry," emphasized Beate Schmidt, Chairwoman of the German Energy Pellets Association (DEPV) and member of the conference committee for the 9th Pellets Industry Forum. Around 500 experts and decision makers from Europe are expected by the event's organizer, Solar Promotion GmbH. The 9th Pellets Industry Forum will take place on October 6-7, in the International Congress Center at the New Stuttgart Trade Fair Center (ICS). Following this, an anticipated 150 exhibitors will display the latest technologies, products and pellets technology trends at the 2009 Interpellets trade fair. This will take place on October 7-9, also at the New Stuttgart Trade Fair Center.

Panel discussion on current developments in the international pellets market

For decision makers in the wood pellets industry, the 9th Pellets Industry Forum offers a well-established platform for the intensive exchange and deepening of knowledge. First-class speakers and a well-chosen program set the tone for the specialist conference, which last year brought together a total of 480 experts from 37 countries, an increase on both counts. The focal points of the two-day conference program are oriented toward current developments in both the German and international pellets market. This year, three topics occupy the limelight: current political conditions and incentive programs, expansion of the raw material base, and quality control and supply security.

A panel discussion will take place on the afternoon of the first conference day: Several pellets industry players will take up themes such as the opportunities, potential and vision of the pellets markets, and examine them from different viewpoints.

Workshops: latest news from different countries, production technology and international trade and logistics

Further focal points at the 9th Pellets Industry Forum include current trends in pellets technology, which will be discussed in different workshops on the second conference day. Themes such as the optimization of fuel quality and energy efficient pellet production techniques will also be examined. Country reports will describe the current situation in established pellets markets, and will also present new, up-and-coming markets such as the Ukraine, Russia and South Korea. Increasing trade volumes and the challenges this presents for international trade will also be considered.

Sanitary, heating and air conditioning trade seminars relating to pellets technology as part of the Interpellets 2009 fringe program

Around 500 experts and decision makers from industry, research and government are expected to attend the 9th Pellets Industry Forum. The conference will take place on October 6-7 at the International Congress Center Stuttgart (ICS). The international trade fair, Interpellets 2009, will run in parallel to the specialist conference - also at the Stuttgart Trade Fair Center. 150 exhibitors from Germany and abroad will present their latest products, services and technical solutions in the field of pellets technology. The exhibition will run for three days, starting on October 7, and will occupy an area of 7,000 square meters. Visitor numbers are expected to reach the 6,000 mark, with 25 percent of these from abroad. Practical seminars will be held especially for trade professionals and energy consultants as part of the Interpellets fringe program. The product-neutral seminars, designed for trade specialists and energy consultants actively involved in carrying out projects, will take place under the slogan "Fit for the pellets market."

The program for the 9th Pellets Industry Forum will be available online from the beginning of August at: http://www.pelletsforum.de - Program
