Vienna (pts015/21.10.2024/12:00) - NOVARION Systems, a technology leader in High-Performance Computing and AI, today announced the availability of its Virtual Coworker. Based on NOVARION's unique Heterogeneous Computing Platform. Virtual Coworkers are orchestrated Neural Networks which are designed to reason and understand specific tasks in work environments.
AI becomes trustworthy TI
In order to better understand NOVARION's innovation we should contextualize the notions of Automation, Machine Learning, Neural Networks and Artificial Intelligence. Often, these terms are confusingly interchanged and used for very different technologies. But a common denominator for all four of these expressions is the concept of an algorithm. Algorithms are explicit sets of rules or processes with ordered elements of calculations. The differentiation of all four terms lies in the origin of the Algorithms involved:
* Algorithms of Automation come from other Intelligent Systems (e.g. Humans programming the computer). Thus, the system for Automation is very much tailored to one specific task, like playing chess. Advantages of Automated Systems include reliability and speed but they are very inflexible on the other hand.
* Algorithms for Machine Learning are predefined by other Intelligent Systems but can be modified (parametrized) according to certain rules during training by the Machine Learning Systems, themselves. Thus, a Machine Learning System can show some functions of intelligence, such as picture recognition, but is uncapable of intelligent behavior in a broader sense.
* Algorithms within Neural Networks are not explicitly input by any other Intelligent System but inherently created by learning tasks of the same Neural Network. Therefore, Neural Networks are not programmed but taught, similar to our own brain. The main advantage of Neural Networks lies in their flexibility to be trained for all imaginable, different tasks but this comes with the uncertainty about their future behavior and the inability of the creator to extract the pure algorithms from the trained Neural Network.
Finally, Artificial Intelligence refers to Machine Learning and Neural Networks, but not to Automation. Now, NOVARION adds another type of such Artificial Intelligence by the combination and orchestration of several of these Neural Networks for the sake of using their flexibility not only for their wanted skills but also to self-restrict and supervise them to behave more predictable and secure.
This is key for the useful and safe implementation of Neural Networks into our working environment. The result is a Network of Neural Networks, which we call Technological Intelligence (TI). One could also state: TI is the politically correct AI.
Of course, such a Super Neural Network, which is TI, is even more demanding for the computational power underneath but this is the exact specialty of NOVARION since more than 20 years in business.

Technological Intelligence tackles Major Challenges within our Society

1st result - Vast Productivity Increase
A single Virtual Coworker instance augments a white-collar work force of about 20 100 individuals, depending on the actual tasks within the department. The overall productivity gain of the whole department is expected to roughly double within the first 24 months and yield to 10x after about 5 years. This is true for both, private and governmental organizations. If rolled out through a whole economic space, this means a significant amount of productivity gain and GDP increase.
2nd result Mitigation of the Skilled Labor Shortage
Due to NOVARION's highly scalable TI Systems, once learned skills can be indefinitely replicated and rolled out, globally. Skilled labor workforces become capable of scaling with Virtual Coworkers by an anticipated factor of up to 100 over the coming 5 10 years. There also will be the need for smaller companies to increase their skilled labor workforce by just a few members. This opens the opportunity for new suppliers of Virtual Contract Workers. This adds even more scalability and productivity to the industries but also to the governmental administrations and thus fosters prosperity of the whole society.

Two Nobel Prizes for Neural Networks in 2024
We cordially congratulate the new Nobel Laureates on their prizes for Physics and Chemistry in 2024, which have been awarded for the remarkable foundational work on Neural Networks by using methods of Physics and the application of these Neural networks for molecular Chemistry. There couldn't be a better showcase to demonstrate the potential of Neural Networks for our society!
