Zurich, Switzerland (ptp026/03.09.2019/14:00) - From 16th to 19th August 2019, art lovers from all over the world had the opportunity to admire the wonderful works of Wolfgang Höhl in the SBB Event Hall at Zurich Central Station during the Swiss art festival SWISSARTEXPO. His works of art were shown on the 16 screens of the Walk of Art during all exhibition days. "We have been very happy to present Wolfgang Höhl's art. We had the pleasure of receiving a lot of positive feedback from the visitors," says Patricia Zenklusen, CVO of the SWISSARTEXPO.
Wolfgang Höhl (1964) was born and raised in Vienna. After completing his education as an architect, he worked in London and Hamburg, among other places. Today he works as an assistant professor for 3D computer graphics and xR technologies in Munich. He wrote his doctoral thesis at Leibniz Universität Hannover. During his academic formation he worked together with Roland Goeschl and Ingeborg Pluhar and had regular contact with Friedrich Achleitner and Peter Weibel.
Wolfgang Höhl's artistic work is characterized by the "Wiener Kreis" and the "Wiener Gruppe". His works have been exhibited and awarded many times over the years. Already in 1985 he presented his works together with Raimund Spilar, Kyu Sperling and Georg Staudacher in his hometown. Among other awards, Höhl received the "Design & Nature Award" of the Wessex Institute of Technology.
The focus of his work - as in the artwork exhibited in Zurich - is on the interplay of moment, space, light, angle and colour. His work "Light, Space and Moment #2" (March, 2019) captures a unique moment in the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao. The unique moment is defined by the special space, the environment, the time of day and the specific light. The work is abstract and open to meaning and significance, yet universally experienceable. The moment is able to directly address the viewer, make him think and touch. And yet one needs the context in order to understand the moment comprehensively. Wolfgang Höhl creates conceptual art at the highest level, which is demanding for all the senses. A work that resonates in thought.
Wolfgang Höhl recently published his latest artist catalogue. The catalogue is now available on https://artbox-publish.myshopify.com/products/wolfgang-hohl for all art lovers.
