Vienna (pts028/29.06.2010/11:45) - Company founder Thomas Streimelweger takes over as Chairman of the Management Board
In today's meeting of the Supervisory Board of S&T System Integration & Technology Distribution AG, the leading provider of consulting, outsourcing, systems integration and IT services in Central and Eastern Europe as well as in the German-speaking region, appointed the company's founder Thomas Streimelweger as the new Chairman of the Management Board. He succeeds Christian Rosner who is leaving the company at his own request as of 31 July 2010 and is stepping down as CEO as of 30 June 2010. Andreas Frech was elected to succeed Thomas Streimelweger as Chairman of the Supervisory Board.
"I regret the resignation of Christian Rosner, with whom both the Management Board and Supervisory Board worked together in a proper and professional manner for many years", commented the "new old" CEO Thomas Streimelweger, who managed the company from its formation until 2000. "For me personally, this change means a step in the direction of my entrepreneurial roots, after having pursued other projects for the past ten years. My top priority will be the continuation and acceleration of the operative turnaround. I take over the management of S&T in a very interesting strategic moment: 29% of the shares of S&T will find a new owner as a result of the liquidation of the assets of the AvW group. It is an exciting challenge to actively participate in this process, and I look forward to shaping the company's future in the interests of shareholders, employees and customers. The interest of potential investors is significant in light of our unique market position in Eastern Europe."
Thomas Streimelweger, who founded S&T in 1987, holds 28% of the shares following the company's successful IPO in 1998. His stake is held in part by the holding company red-stars.com data AG/Hygiene Holding GmbH, which also manages other investments. Thomas Streimelweger has been a member of the Supervisory Board and its Chairman since 2004. The new Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Andreas Frech, is the founder of the consulting firm EFP, which was acquired by S&T in 2005. He has been a member of the Supervisory Board of S&T since May 2009.
