Weblogs are the most discussed new media format recently. In their footsteps Web 2.0 and Social Software evoke fantasies not only in venture capitalists and media but across a steady increasing user base. Software-developers, researchers, and users rom 15 nations will discuss applications, value, and use cases, and their social and organisational impact for the private and the corporate sector.
Thomas N. Burg, founder of the Social Software Lab, Vienna, hosts BlogTalk for the third time in Vienna. It is still the only international and transdisciplinary conference about Weblogs, Web 2.0, and Social Software. It will be held from Oct. 2 to Oct. 3, 2006 at the TechGate, Vienna, Austria. International experts such as danah boyd (University of California-Berkeley), Matt Mullenweg (WordPress, Automattic), and Rod Smith (IBM) will keynote. Topics of the conference reach from the political impact of blogs to wikis as new document formats to emerging techniques like tagging to semantic usage scenarios or Googles new services.
The press-conference will take place right before the conference.
