Vienna (pts015/03.07.2006/12:15) - Coca-Cola light(TM) will strike new paths in 2006, sporting a new taste and a new line of communication. Apart from conventional advertising materials, Coca-Cola light(TM)'s advertising campaign will also include new media. One of those is the field of so-called AdGames for mobile phones, which is blessed with growing importance. It is no coincidence that Xendex, of all companies, was assigned for creating the new Coca-Cola light(TM) mobile game, as the firm is known as one of the top addresses worldwide. After all, one of the ten largest international brands does not leave any detail of its advertising campaign to chance.
With this cooperation, one more of economy's top players is entering the new mobile games advertising market. The potential is said to be gigantic. According to a survey carried out by Proximity International, mobile gaming is already indispensable in the marketing mix. Nevertheless, it seems as though users are still one step ahead of advertisers in this matter. The survey showed that 25 percent of all those interviewed have downloaded at least one AdGame so far. On the other hand side, only 15 percent of all the companies interviewed make use of this new field of conversational advertising. These alarming results obviously call for consulting, as 98 percent of the firms further stated that mobile gaming could be an integral component of their marketing campaigns in the near future.
After being asked what made Coca-Cola light(TM) choose for mobile games to be part of their campaign, Veit Salentinig, Coca-Cola light(TM)'s brand manager, explained: "Coca-Cola light has always tried to strike new, modern and contemporary paths of communication. Mobile gaming and gaming are fields of growing importance for teenagers and young adults. Therefore, they are ideal for concretely addressing this target group. Furthermore, mobile games guarantee a high level of consumer involvement as well as fun, naturally."
