Vienna (pts008/07.12.2005/08:00) - For the 6th time in 2006 the Institute for International Research (IIR) in Austria organizes the http://www.iir.at/u/dmuz3">EPCON Central and Eastern European Congress on Liberalization of the energy market of seven CEE countries. The event takes place in the Congress Casino Baden near Vienna. Liberalization, as well as regulation, privatization and unbundling are currently high interesting issues in Central & Eastern Europe. Additionally, more and more companies in the electricity and gas industry are exposed to keen competition and have to develop strategies to survive. On the one hand the electricity and gas companies in CEE will show their progress in liberalization and unbundling at the conference, and on the other hand those companies will have the chance to listen and learn from e.g. Scandinavian companies about their experiences and policies concerning this process. These exciting inputs are accompanied by different discussions with the Ministries, Regulation Authorities and EU Members.
Speakers at the conference are Central and Eastern European Ministry and Regulatory Authority Members: From Czech Republic - Josef Firt, Hungary - Isztvan Pataki, Romania - Alexandru Sandulescu, Slovakia - Jan Klepac, Slovenia - Gorazd Skerbinek. They will inform about their actual liberalization status and get in touch with EU Commission Members on the conference. The second part of the conference is concentrated on global players in Central Eastern European and Western European countries: Vattenfall -Sweden, Gazprom - Russia, MOL - Hungary, Cez - Bulgaria.
The main focus of the conference is set on exchange of experiences and knowledge about the liberalization and unbundling process amongst Eastern and Western European companies including Scandinavian and Northern European players. The topics are highly interesting with a good mix of economical, financial and legal subjects.
Additionally, we offer one special day about Turkey with the impressions of Turkish energy companies´ and experts´ about the hottest topics on Turkish energy market.
To top the conference festivities off, the competition for the http://www.iir.at/u/dmuz3">EPCON Award - powered by Accenture - will be open for the first time also to Eastern European companies in the energy sector. Applications will be accepted until latest 10th February 2006.
