Celeb mag to curtail paparazzi recklessness
An effort to placate and protect paparazzi-stalked Hollywood stars begins

Los Angeles (pte031/14.06.2005/12:30) - In lieu of a recent incident involving actor Lindsay Lohan and an over-zealous paparrazo, celebrity magazine US Weekly has announced that it won't accept photographs taken through reckless means, or when the safety of photographee has been jeopardized.

Lohan's pursuer, Hollywood photographer Galo Cesar Ramirez, allegedly crashed his car into hers after a speedy car chase, leaving the actor with minor injuries. He was arrested on suspicion of felony assault with a deadly weapon.

The magazine, one of the most popular celeb magazines in the United States, has a readership of about 1.5 million, and is attempting to combat the increasing problem of paparazzi-induced privacy invasion - also on the agenda of the Los Angeles district attorney's office. A criminal investigation is to begin soon, which will try and pin over-ambitious individual and team celebrity photographers on felony conspiracy charges.

Apart from Lohan, several other stars, including Cameron Diaz, Justin Timberlake and Jennifer Garner, have recently spoken out about the increasingly bizarre and dangerous paparazzi 'stalking' attacks.

US Weekly said in a statement that it would no longer accept pictures taken by photographers who "violated traffic laws, trespassed on private property or invaded the privacy of children at school".
