Bronschhofen (pte040/06.12.2004/16:10) - Swiss IT manufacturer Swissbit http://www.swissbit.com has introduced its "Travel it easy" software, which will offer users of USB storage devices a variety of useful functions. The software is set to make files, e-mail and Internet functions easier to manage. "Travel it easy" is Windows 2000 and XP compatible and offers a language selection option for German, English, French, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese. The software is pre-installed and immediately available on all Swissbit USB devices.
Depending on the user's preference, data can be seen with or without a password. The USB Lost & Found function, which is applied for the very first time for a USB storage device with "Travel it easy", is exempt from password protection. Users just need to fill in a simple form containing their personal data, which creates a Lost & Found HTML file on the storage device that can be read by anybody.
With the function "My Documents Synchronisation", users can select files in the folder "My Documents" on their PC and then synchronise them with their USB memory in an uncomplicated way. The user's own Outlook Express can also be synchronised. For this purpose, a back-up copy of the user's personal data such as e-mails and contacts are created on the SWISSMEMORYTM to access these from any other computer. Additionally, users can call-off their own e-mails from there, as the personal user data are also saved. According to Swissbit, this function is particularly practical for those who do a lot of travelling.
Internet favourites can also be stored on the USB storage device and synchronised with the PC connected. Users who switch frequently between several PCs, such as Home and Office PCs, are set to benefit from this function in particular. "Travel it easy" also makes No Trace Internet Browsing possible. This function means that no trace is left when browsing in the Internet - the complete browsing process including temporary files and cookies is stored on the storage device and cannot be traced back on the computer used.
