Helsinki (pte029/23.06.2003/14:15) - Finnish telecoms giant Nokia http://www.nokia.com and Swedish service provider TeliaSonera http://www.teliasonera.com have renewed and expanded their partnership.
As both companies announced today, they hoped their new extended contractual agreement will help reduce costs and create new synergies. The revised contract will also serve as the basis for the cooperation between Nokia's future GSM infrastructure and TeliaSonera networks in Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden.
Through the new agreement Nokia and TeliaSonera plan to harmonise their logistics processes and improve the coordination of contracts among TeliaSonera's Scandinavian subsidiaries, as well as anchor TeliaSonera's activities in Scandinavia. Nokia hopes to save significant costs in the next two years by harmonising delivery contracts with individual TeliaSonera subsidiaries.
Nokia and TeliaSonera have further signed a declaration of intent to continue the partnership until 2005.
