London (pte037/20.06.2003/18:03) - Thomas Middelhoff, former CEO of the Bertelsmann media group, will soon be managing Investcorp's European division http://www.investcorp.com . As reported by the Wall Street Journal (WSJ), Investcorp head Chris O'Brien believes Middelhoff's financial expertise and management experience will help drive on the private equity group's European business.

About a year ago, Middelhoff was forced to leave his position at Bertelsmann due to differences with the supervisory board. After his departure there were many speculations as to whether he might possibly go to AOL Time Warner or the World Economic Forum. Investcorp is known among other things for its investments in Gucci and Tiffany & Co.
