Entertainment giant Disney http://disney.go.com now plans to offer its content (cartoons, games, music) on mobile phones in Europe, and hopes to have as much success there as it did in Japan. According to Financial Times Deutschland, Disney has entered a mobile marketing alliance with mobile operator Vodafone.
British station Channel 4 http://www.channel4.com has further announced it is launching the first commercial video download service for reality show "Big Brother", In cooperation with Minick http://www.minick.net , the station will send the latest news and nominations directly to users' mobile phones. The service will be available through all British mobile operators at a price of one pound per video. Clips on key events can be ordered via SMS or the Internet.
Minick head Tero Turunen believes the service will turn into a lucrative business. Experts say 200 million multimedia mobile phones could be in use by 2005.
