New York (pte039/11.06.2003/16:03) - US music channel VH1 http://www.vh1.com will release its list of the top 100 songs of the past 25 years on 16 June.
Heading the ranking of songs selected by a VH1 forum is Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit", followed by Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean", and Guns n' Roses' "Sweet Child O'Mine". The list will be shown in the form of a countdown spread over five days http://www.vh1.com/shows/dyn/the_greatest/66966/episode_about.jhtml .
In addition to the respective video clips, VH1 will be featuring interviews with musicians and colleagues such as Whitney Houston, Britney Spears and Madonna who will comment on individual songs. In keeping with the distribution of the industry, most of the songs are products of the US and UK music industries that have earned their artists and labels millions.
