Redmond (pte036/20.05.2003/15:24) - Microsoft has announced it plans to found an anti-virus alliance together with security firms Network Associates and Trend Micro. The new platform, called Virus Information Alliance (VIA), will regularly inform Microsoft customers about viruses circulating over the Internet. The three members of the alliance also intend to improve the exchange of information on new viruses among their development departments http://www.microsoft.com/presspass/press/2003/may03/05-19NAITrendMicroPR.asp .
VIA's information will be available via the Microsoft TechNet website http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/virus/default.asp , where visitors can find assessments of various viruses and how they spread through the Internet. The site will also provide guidelines on dealing with the dangers of contracting a virus through the Internet.
