German Internet associations merge
ASP Konsortium and eco Forum join forces

Cologne/ Munich (pte030/09.05.2003/14:59) - The association of online services providers ASP Konsortium http://www.asp-konsortium.de and the German Internet economic association eco Forum http://www.eco.de are merging.

The aim of the new organisation is to secure a stronger position in the further development of the German Internet economy. The merger has received the approval of the responsible committees, and the integration process is already under way.

The manager of the new association will be Harald A. Summa, who has been head of eco Forum up to now. Frank Simon, manager of ASP Konsortium is taking over the field of ASP online services. According to both associations, the ASP (Application Service Providing) Online Service Model will become more important on the market in the future, with mobile services playing a key role.

The ASK Konsortium was founded in 2000 to support the market for online services, while eco Forum was founded to foster the commercial use of the Internet.
