Houston/ Leuven (pte037/25.03.2003/15:14) - US software provider BMC Software http://www.bmc.com reported today it was taking over Belgian system management software firm IT Masters International for 42m dollars in cash.
Founded in 1995 by two former IBM software developers, the Belgian company specializes in systems for the automatic detection and correction of changes within computer networks.
IT Masters employs 75 people in Belgium and Austin, Texas. According to BMC, IT Masters achieved a turnover of 11m dollars last year. Both companies have been working closely together for some time, sharing clients such as Deutsche Bank and Verizon.
This is BMC's second acquisition within six months. Last September it took over Remedy, a division of the bankrupt software provider Peregrine Systems http://www.peregrine.com .
