Yekaterinburg (pte008/20.03.2003/10:06) - A Russian telecoms company is offering free phone calls to the White House for anyone who wants to rant at George Bush over the Iraq crisis.
Bosses at the Excom company http://www.excom.ru in the west Russian city of Yekaterinburg said they are offering free calls to the White House for Russians who want to air their views on the war in Iraq.
At least 987 people have taken advantage of the offer so far, making calls to the White House ranging from two to 20 minutes, said Excom general director Konstantin Ivanov.
The tempers of some people against US-led attacks on Saddam Hussein's regime have already boiled over, operators said.
Phone operator Irina Natakhina said: "Mostly men call almost every 10 minutes and demand to be put through to the White House. When they have to wait they even begin swearing at me."
Ivanov, who said he found the number for the White House switchboard (+1 (202) 456-1414, e-mail: president@whitehouse.gov ) on the Internet, said the offer will continue indefinitely. (newsfox-special Iraq)
