Eschborn (pte020/17.03.2003/12:01) - Long distance telephone network provider 3U Telecom http://www.3U.net has closed 2002 with a clear profit.
The listed German company reported today that net profits increased from 500,000 euros to 1.78m euros last year. Earnings before taxes and depreciation grew by 180 per cent to 7.51m euros, compared to 2.68m in 2001. Turnover climbed from 62.35m euros to 65.97m euros.
In addition to its locations in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, the Netherlands, Italy and France, the conventional telephone network provider has extended its operations to include the USA. Company head Udo Graul has further plans to expand to Great Britain, Belgium and Luxembourg.
In February 3U took over Talkline's pre-selection customers. Last September the group had plans to take over Mobilcom's fixed network, but the deal fell through.
