Munich (pte040/12.03.2003/14:24) - Busy German couples can now snap up the world's first all in one wedding package at their local supermarket for a bargain basement price.
Discount supermarket chain Plus http://www.plus.de is offering couples a civil marriage service, champagne reception complete with wedding cake, evening buffet and drinks for up to 18 people at a top hotel, as well as the wedding night and a champagne breakfast - all for just 2,220 euros.
The chain also offers additional discount prices for the supermarket bride's wedding dress and bouquet as "optional extras".
Plus head of marketing Peter Mueller said: "We were simply looking for more articles and products to show that we offer more than socks and groceries."
He added that there had been a huge amount of interest from customers since the deal was launched on Monday.
Plus supermarket is also offering ready-to-build kit houses for newlyweds, which can be bought for about 87,000 euros.
