Vienna/ London (pte022/05.03.2003/11:32) - Mobile phone manufacturer Sony Ericsson http://www.sonyericsson.com is introducing two mobile phone models for the middle and lower market segment.
The T310 is a mini-console, which according to Ericsson offers additional games functions and may compete with the upcoming Nokia console N'Gage. The device will come with the mobile version of a console game.
A camera module can be plugged into the T310 console, whereas the equally new T610 comes with an integrated camera. The T610 can also be equipped with a special flash. Both phones are MMS-capable.
Sony Ericsson head Katsumi Ihara announced at the 3GSM World Congress 2003 in Cannes that his company has started new cooperations with content suppliers. In the case of T310, Sony Ericsson has won over games producer Jamdat Mobile, which is offering 60 additional games as downloads. They can also be used as multi-player games.
The best features of the new phones are reportedly their colour displays, joysticks, "force feedback" and high quality sound.
The T310 is to appear on the market in April 2003, along with an MCA-25 camera module and MMS Home Studio software for PCs. The triband 610 phone, which weighs only 95 grams, will become available during the second quarter of the year.
