Brussels (pte016/05.03.2003/10:34) - The European Portal on Learning Opportunities Throughout the European Space (PLOTEUS) http://www.ploteus.net went online today, offering Europeans a new guide to educational and professional training in Europe.
The portal is designed to make it much easier for Europeans to access information about learning opportunities.
The site is divided into five different categories: education systems, learning opportunities, exchange programmes, contact and country details.
The section on education systems has information on national education and professional training systems, as stated in the report released by the EU Commission. The category learning opportunities lists national education websites with information on schools, universities and other educational institutions.
By looking up 'exchange', users can find information on European exchange programmes, which enable high school and university students to attend schools abroad.
The 'contact' section provides phone numbers and addresses of information offices in the various countries.
Rounding off the website is the section on country details, which provides surfers with useful tips about their potential country of choice.
