London (pte053/03.03.2003/17:00) - Zurich again heads the list for best 'quality of life', according to a study published today by Mercer Human Resource Consulting http://www.imercer.com .
The Swiss city is followed by Vienna and Vancouver, which tied for second. Geneva and Sydney ranked third and fourth, while fifth place was shared by the cities Munich, Frankfurt, Copenhagen, Auckland and Bern.
The study looked at 215 cities around the world according to 39 criteria, which included the political and economic situation, the availability of entertainment, shopping options, health care, schools, living quarters and environmental factors.
The lower end of the scale was mainly occupied by African cities, which took 17 of the final 20 spots. Last place went to Brazaville in Congo and Bangui, the capital of the Central African Republic.
The study is intended to help companies look for an ideal location abroad.
