Vienna, Austria (pts011/11.02.2003/09:10) - S&T System Integration & Technology Distribution AG (NASDAQ Europe: SNTS, XETRA: SYA, OTC: STSQY), a leading IT service provider in Central and Eastern Europe, today announced that it has been selected by Ukrzaliznytsia, Ukrainian Railways, to provide IT solutions for two of the six regional railway divisions of the company.
S&T will set up a new server platform and network infrastructure in order to update the existing automation system for the ticket issuing process. The solution is designed to maximize availability and reliability of the system. This project, which utilizes technologies based on UNIX-servers from Hewlett-Packard, networking equipment from Cisco and back-up software from Veritas is valued at more than EUR 2 million.

Ukrzaliznytsia decided to work with S&T and its partner Ukrainian Business Information Service on this project because they believe the company is one of the leading IT service providers with great experience in the region and an important local presence in Ukraine. The successful pilot runs confirmed Ukrzaliznytsia's decision to choose S&T for full implementation.
The implementation is underway and S&T expects to carry out similar projects for the other regional railways of Ukrzaliznytsia.
