Daytime ban on sausage advert in Turkey
Hundreds of complaints from exasperated parents

Istanbul (pte004/01.02.2003/14:09) - A daytime ban has been placed on a sausage advert in Turkey after poor parents complained they had had enough of their children whinging for them. Millions of Turks have been hit by the country's current recession - the worst since the end of the Second World War - and many families cannot afford the expensive Sucuk sausages that are being advertised.

Following hundreds of complaints from exasperated parents fed up with having to disappoint their children food manufacturer Pinar, who produce the breakfast sausages, have agreed to only show the commercials late at night when most children are sleeping. http://www.pinar.com.tr/Eng/urun/urhi/urhi0000.htm
