Lisbon (pte050/29.01.2003/15:16) - Lisbon, Portugal, is to become the site of the second SMS Meets TV seminar
http://www.smsmeetstv.com/overviewlis.php on 6 February 2003. The seminar invites experts in the multimedia sector to network and exchange information on the interaction of SMS and TV technologies. Those still interested in attending should register as soon as possible.
Speaking at the seminar will be Mr Fernando Enrile, Director of Technology & Content for Sogecable Multimedia, who will outline the unique value proposition that SMS interactivity brings to leading broadcast groups. Mr Enrile has worked with Canal Satélite Digital, Spain's principal pay-TV provider.
Further multimedia insights will come from Hugh Griffiths, Director of Portal & Content for mobile operator o2. Mr. Griffiths will present his viewpoint on the marketplace, including the increasing importance of strategic partnerships with media content owners. He is currently responsible for O2's web, WAP and pda portals, including its SMS and mobile services.
Another speaker is Job van Wagensveld from Endemol International, one of the world's most successful production companies. Mr. Wagensveld will discuss how SMS interactivity is driving on the production of TV formats, and how the next generation of SMS TV is likely to appear on our screens.
Joris van Heukelom, from MTV Networks, will present the Dutch case study of The Music Factory' (TMF) which has become one of the first TV stations in the world to continually engage its viewers through interactive services.
