Passengers asked to plan super jet
Boeing and AOL encourage customer-input for new plane

Seattle (pte045/14.05.2003/16:08) - What sounded in the beginning like a survey of passenger satisfaction and comfort has now become a campaign to re-launch the new aeroplane Boeing 7E7 http://www.boeing.com. In conjunction with AOL-Time Warner the aircraft manufacturer intends to take customer opinion into account for the conception of the 7E7.

The long-flight plane, which is to supersede the 767 model, is to be about the same size as its predecessor. The conception of the two-aisle aircraft, which is supposed to require 20 per cent less fuel than the previous model, is expected to be finished by 2007, the jet itself to be ready by 2008.

AOL members can take a 360 degree virtual tour of the plane at http://www.newairplane.com , and to offer their suggestions and wishes. This is also part of the AOL's campaign "100 Years of Flight." The most important developments in flight history will also be available online.

Boeing is also looking for a suitable name for the jet, for which a worldwide survey is being done. So far the names "Dreamliner", "eLiner", "Global Cruiser" and "Stratoclimber" have made it into the selection.
