Acceptance Speech: A Reflection on Identity and Humanity
In her moving acceptance speech, Michaela Lukmann reflected on the meaning of identity as a lifelong journey:
"Life begins with existence, and existence begins with identification. From our very first breath until our final moment, we search for, shape, and live what defines us.
Identification is not a fixed state. It is a constant companion on our journey through life. We identify with values, with our understanding of what is right and wrong, meaningful and important. It provides orientation, guides us through challenges, and connects us with one another.
Art and culture give this identity its strongest and most authentic voice. They are mirrors of our time and unique testimonies of human experience. Art and culture have the power to transcend individual boundaries and unite people across continents, languages, and nations.
Receiving the 'Identification' Award today fills me with profound gratitude and humility. This recognition is not only a confirmation of the path I have taken, but also an inspiration for the future.
I encourage everyone to remain true to the positive values that shape their identity. These values are what strengthen our communities and provide hope for tomorrow."
A Milestone for Austrian Culture
Receiving the "Identification Code of Slovakia" Cultural Award marks another significant chapter in Michaela Lukmann's international career. As the first Austrian recipient in the history of the award, she represents the growing impact of Austrian cultural engagement on the international stage.
The distinction honors not only an impressive artistic and curatorial achievement but also a lifelong commitment to cultural dialogue, human connection, and the transformative power of art.
With this award, Arthena Maxx continues to demonstrate that art is far more than creative expression. It is a universal language capable of connecting people, preserving values, and shaping a more understanding and culturally connected world.
