Zurich (ptp023/09.08.2021/13:00) - Swiss artist Guido Lötscher will honour this year's edition of the SWISSARTEXPO in the heart of Zurich with his brilliant works of art. Spontaneous and at the same time thoughtful, Guido Lötscher develops his magnificent works with numerous layers of paint by scraping and overlaying with squeegee, spatula and brush. The intuitive intrinsic effect combined with randomness make his works absolutely unique. "The world disappears when you are absorbed in it" - the self-taught painter of contemporary art has adopted this quotation by Martin Heidegger entirely in his creation.

Born in 1960 in the canton of Bern in Switzerland, Guido Lötscher changed his professional life from the ground up after working for 30 years as an insurance salesman and fully devoted his time to art and painting. The artist already developed his passion for oil painting in his youth and went through various processes in his search for his own style. The confrontation with the overwhelming work of the American painter Mark Rothko finally caused him to turn away from figurative to non-objective painting and colour field painting. Here the challenge for Guido is to unite harmony of colours and forms, spontaneous expression and meditative depth. Ultimately, it is the search for the connection of the sensual with the metaphysical, which is the basis for his creation of an introspective state of consciousness of silence.

In his further artistic development, he adopted the squeegee technique, in which there are strong parallels to the "metaphysical" colour field painting. The aspiration is the same, to create quiet, introspective and at the same time energetic, powerful images that lead to self-reflection and enable an inner balance. The abstract works he creates in this way are based on his own perception, which ultimately leads to a palpable liveliness in his creations.

At this year's SWISSARTEXPO, from 25 to 29 August 2021, Guido Lötscher will be exhibiting his original works of art SEA GARDEN, CLIFF FLOW and WEEPING WILLOW. The impressive oil paintings on canvas are also a breathtaking testimony to how tools and paint can create wonderful compositions that are often reminiscent of spatial or scenic representations and yet remain non-representational. Already represented at several renowned art exhibitions, Guido Lötscher will this year honour the SBB Eventhalle at Zurich's main railway station with his imposing creative power.
In a new art catalogue, which will also be available to visitors on site, there will be more works by the talented artist.
