Ranshofen (pts017/20.01.2014/14:30) - AMAG announces that it signed a major multi-year contract valued in the triple-digit million US dollar range with Boeing Commercial Airplanes for the supply of aluminium plate and sheet. Landing this order means an expansion of the long-standing cooperation with Boeing with an increase in the quantities to be delivered. The material produced by the aluminium specialist will be used in all current Boeing aircraft types.

The contract adds high-strength sheet and strip to the product range to be delivered to Boeing.

Aluminium is a material offering properties such as corrosion resistance and high strength at low weight: advantages which are in demand in the aircraft industry. In aircraft, aluminium is primarily used for structural components of the fuselage and wings.
